In the early 1980s, the restoration of Casa Blanca as a private residential community began. George Christensen and a young Mark Candelaria (just starting out as a draftsman) were among several architects credited with this project. Christensen‘s style was known for combining modern and local vernacular architecture (adobe), respecting the spirit of the place. Phase I included 37 residences with different floor plans. By the mid ‘80s, Christensen and Candelaria (now serving a project manager) had developed the south side of Casa Blanca which included 38 residences, a lap pool, and a cactus garden -- Phase II. The first of the current owners to buy into the community were Kenson Siver in Phase I (unit 21) and Jodi London in Phase II (228).
