In a world where change seems to be the only constant, taking a step back into history often requires more than imagination—it requires a keen eye for details preserved in photographs.

As is the case with these remarkable aerial images from Scottsdale, circa 1947. These images, courtesy of the Scottsdale Historical Society and Scottsdale Public Library, offer a glimpse into the past when the landscape was markedly different.

The photographs provide a bird's-eye view of Casa Blanca as it was nearly eight decades ago. One can’t help but be drawn to the details described: the airplane landing strip cutting through the middle, familiar roadways like Invergordon (now 64th Street) and Chaparral Road, and even a young orange grove nestled in the corner—a testament to a bygone era when agriculture still played a significant role in the area's identity.

As we delve deeper into finding photographs that tell us more about Casa Blanca’s history, we invite you to dig through your archives and see what you can find !!

As always, we thank the Scottsdale Historical Society and Scottsdale Public Library for their efforts in preserving these invaluable records.
