The History of Casa Blanca Continues into the 1960’s…

In the early 1960’s, the Treadways and associates sold all but 20 acres of the property and focused on Casa Blanca Inn’s development. Gone were the runway and stables, as well as the chuck wagon suppers with authentic cowboy music. The sold parcel to the north became Casa Blanca Estates, Scottsdale’s first gated residential community, with 56 one-acre lots. Royal and Patty Treadway became the sole owners and managers of The Inn and gained recognition nationally and overseas. The onion-domed Sultan’s Table continued to be a chic hotspot with dining and dancing on weekends. By the mid ‘60s, the character of Scottsdale’s resort destination business was moving from long-term winter visitors, who stayed several months, to shorter sojourns. Disenchanted by the change and the influx of competition, the Treadways sold Casa Blanca Inn to Bernard McDonough.
